Young Farmers:)

Hello my Darlin Dears, wonderful meadow creatures that love hidding in the Zuchinni patch & you adorable Gnomes that tried tameing Fred the Donkey into being a plow horse.... they found that all the apples in the world will not work:)

Miss Lamb your girl in the Garden young farmer here,

I am happier than a peach to be sharing with yall a lovely new society I am a part of:)

A group of wonderful young farmers:)

Can you spot this Little Lamb?:)

Apparently.... I am in the next generation of agricultural pioneers:)

What a title to live up to:)

GOOD magazine put together a lovely list of young farmers across america, & I feel fortunate enough to be amongst them :) But you know what this list is missing?

Look closely....

It needs....more Oklahomans:)

Living here & knowing the people here, I would love to see more of my fellow young farmers not only thrive on their own farms, but show the other states how diverse & wonderful we are!!

Ok....I have said my peace:)

You can read my particular profile right here darlin dears...

Much more is to come from being a young farmer, & I look forward to sharing my adventures with you all my loves:)

Did you know I love you?:) I really do....

Meet..... my favorite Flower:)

Hello my Darlin Dears, Wonderful Meadow Creatures that are luminous & Distant in the pasture &.... of course.... you wonderful Gnomes who plan to go with me back to the Sand Plum patch to see how they are ripening....

Miss Lamb your farmer of the fields, & kisser of Cows Foreheads here,

Ohhhhhh the Carrot Flower....

My favorite flower:)

Besides small cream and peach Roses, or lovely peach Persian Buttercup, the Carrot flower is my favorite... Yes, Queen Anne's Lace is in theory the same thing... I just prefer the flowers that grow in my Garden plot of Meadow Sweet Carrots more:)

I think it will be a lovely time this summer when I can travel the back highways of the South while traversing my way up to the Forests of Kentucky & Tennessee (a special project I am not allowed to talk about just yet.... but soon:) & I will harvest the Wild Carrots & Queen Anne's Lace, but my heart is other places... in a garden.... at EBA:)

If you are interested, I even have prints in the Shop Available:)

"The Day & Light, With A Song Upon The Grounds Lips"

"The Day & Light, With A Song Upon The Grounds Lips Part II"

..............& a slightly more Airy capture:)

"The Day & Light, With A Song Upon The Grounds Lips Part III"

Ehh?:)

Are y'all having a good day? I must admit, it has been a tough few days at EBA.... I lost a very close friend from the mountains... I will not go into detail about it, because he would want me to be filled with joy during this Abundant Spring and not in the least sad, but I will miss our Truck Rides :)

I promise... to be... Way over Yonder in a Minor Key:)
(sorry...inside joke folks:)

In honor of all that is sweet, I pledge myself to doing better in the garden... I pledge myself to picking wild-flowers more often....& I pledge myself to planting more Carrots:)

I send a kiss to each of your foreheads my loves:)

Did you know, I do....very true... Love you?:)

Harvest has Halted because of the rain, but we do not have much left to cut... it was an amazing Harvest:)

Strawberry Fields...until the birds eat them:)

Hello my Darlin Dears, wonderful meadow creatures that sing in the North pasture & you hilarious Gnomes whom have befriended a group of three bunnies in the east pasture...we named them Eggs, Sweet William & Chubs:)

Miss Lamb your girl of the garden farmer here,

Ohhhh Strawberries:) how I love thee:)

but you lovely birds like to eat them:)

So, while they are here, I have been having a great time cooking with them:)

Thus, you must meet my lovely:
"EBA Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie"

Here is what you will need:)

*1 Deep shelled Pie Crust (Or make your own to taste if you please...this is what I usually do, so it will be extra thick & hearty)
*2 1/2 eggs (yes.... 2 & 1/2 eggs)
*1/3 cup of heavy whipping cream
*1 cup of white sugar
*2 1/2 packages of Philly cream cheese
*1 tablespoon of Vanilla
*2 quarts worth of Strawberries (I usually end up eat most of one quart while I am cooking:)

Directions:
*On stove top, melt & begin to whip two of the packages of the cream cheese. Once semi melted, add your white sugar (2/3 cup), cream & eggs... (yes... 2 1/2) to the lovely mixture. Once thick & pourable consistency swirl in the delicious Vanilla .

*Pour and evenly spread your delicious cream cheese mixture inside of pie shell... bake this mixture at 350 until your pie looks slightly fluffy and slightly brown.

*While that yummyness is baking, cut the tops off of your lovely garden or farmers market Strawberries, & feed those tops to the Chickens:) Place them aside. Then take your last half of your cream cheese and melt it with 1/3 cup of white sugar, to make a lovely cream cheese sauce.

*Once your pie in done, taking from oven and arrange your Strawberries as seen in the lovely picture. I like to make a ring of Strawberries, pour on the cream cheese sauce, then add the center Strawberries:)

*If you really feel like being fanciful, go pick a few Strawberry Flowers & Strawberry leaves from your garden or from the garden next door when they are not looking, and arrange them on your pie.  Chill for at least an Hour, then serve my Darlin Dears.

....................................................

Once yall cook this Recipe, let me know what you think:)

I wish you all a lovely Weekend, & I send my love your way:)

Lilacs, Maple trees & the swing on which I swung,

Hey you... get out of the rain fluff ball:)

Hello my Darlin Dears, wonderful meadow creatures that like nesting in long forgotten clay pots & you wonderful Gnomes who ate 2 of the three pies I had made for mothers day (strawberry cream cheese pie),

Yumm:)

Miss Lamb your flower adorned & potato harvesting farmer here,

Being a farmer & with that, trying to practice the most loving animal Husbandry possible, I get up a lot through the night to go and casually check on the homestead....

Here in lovely SW Oklahoma, we have been getting a lovely amount of rain... all of yesterday & yesterday night, it rained about a total of 2 1/2 inches... very cold rain at that...

Just two days ago, I became the mother too 30 baby day old chicks (welcome to the world baby chicks) & they went to go and live with the baby ducks:) They all quickly became great friends, but then the rain came....

Half of the baby duck/chicken coop is covered from the rain, & the other half is exposed to the lovely sunshine, & rain if it happens... I woke up at my normal 4:30 am & went out to check on the babies, and saw that two of the little ones were huddled next to one another and soaking to their little tiny baby bones...

I quickly scooped them up and questioned them as I ran into the house "Why did you little ones not go under the light with your friends?"

A little back story on these two... ever since they were hatched, they have been inseparable :) They would eat together, drink together, confront ducks together... all that best friends do... & now these two day old babies were standing in the rain together and nearly freezing themselves out of a spirit...

I ran inside and took out the blow dryer, where they stood under as if holy and absorbed the heat... I then took them over to my work desk and let them sleep in a bit of Lambs wool for an hour or so.. I was just hoping they were going to survive.... No sooner had I left the art studio did I hear cheeping from behind the door.. I walked back in to find the fluff balls eating and then staring at me:)

I hope they consider me part of the pack now:)

Here they are posing for my I-Pad camera on my art studio work desk... all dry now...
I think it says it all:) Best friends forever... Rain or Shine:)

I hope you all in the world of Spring are having great times and experiencing lovely Joy with your baby chickens & baby ducks.

I hope you all have a wonderful mothers day:) In my family, we give tomato plants on mothers day:) I just adore traditions....

I send a kiss to each of your foreheads :)
